MEMPHIS, TN - The Memphis Redbirds are proud to announce that they will open the 2014 season by hosting the defending National League Champion St. Louis Cardinals in a special exhibition game at AutoZone Park on Friday, March 28. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.

The prestigious event at AutoZone Park will give fans the first glimpse of the 2014 Cardinals as they face the Redbirds in their final pre-season game leading up to Opening Day.

Exhibition game tickets can be reserved now during an exclusive pre-sale to Redbirds Champions Club and Quarter season members. Each ticket holder will receive a $10 discount off the general public price and have the ability to purchase a maximum of six (6) additional tickets at the general public pricing.

Fans interested in securing seats for the exhibition game or learning how to become a Champions Club member can call (901) 722-0299.

The game will be the first exhibition between the two clubs since 2009 and the eighth overall in the 17 seasons of their player development partnership. Drew, David Freese, and current Cardinals Matt Carpenter, Allen Craig, Yadier Molina, Lance Lynn, Jason Motte, Michael Wacha and Adam Wainwright. The partnership has produced two Pacific Coast League Championships and two World Series Championships for the Cardinals.

The Redbirds are celebrating their 15th season of competition at AutoZone Park in 2014. Season tickets, mini-plans, and group outing packages are currently on sale now by contacting the Redbirds at (901) 722-0299.
