Tourists win second straight over Legends 9-2

(ASHEVILLE, N.C.) Jordan Patterson and Wilfredo Rodriguez each drove in two runs for Asheville as the Tourists took a 9-2 win over the Lexington Legends Saturday night.

The Legends took a 1-0 lead in the third inning. With one out, Alexis Rivera singled, moved to second when Dex Kjerstad was hit by a pitch, and to third when Carlos Garcia singled.   Kenny Diekroeger's sacrifice fly scored Rivera from third.

The Tourists took the lead for good with four runs in the bottom of the fourth.   Ryan McMahon doubled home a run in that inning to increase his league-leading RBI total to 66. Correlle Prime followed with a run-scoring single, Patterson drove home a run with a ground out, and Rodriguez' double to left field scored the fourth run of the inning.

The Legends got one run back in the sixth when Diekroeger doubled, stole third and scored on Mauricio Ramos' ground out to shortstop. 

Asheville answered with three runs in the bottom of the sixth. Walks to McMahon and Prime started the inning, and Patterson doubled home one run. Prime scored on a wild pitch as Patterson moved to third, and Patterson came home on Rodriguez' sacrifice fly to center field, giving the Tourists a 7-2 lead.

The Tourists added two runs in the eighth. Max White singled and scored on a double by Emerson Jimenez. David Dahl's double scored Jimenez with the game's final run.

Asheville starter Antonio Senzatela, who worked the first five innings, improved his record to 9-1. Legends starter Andrew Edwards (2-4), who pitched three and two-thirds innings, took the loss.

Asheville has won the first two games of the series, which concludes Sunday. Game time is 2:05 p.m.
