Suns top Legends, 8-2

(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) Jimmy Yezzo hit two home runs for Hagerstown, and the Suns took an 8-2 win over the Lexington Legends in front of 5,498 fans at Whitaker Bank Ballpark Saturday night.

The Suns scored a run in the fourth inning on a double by Wilmer Difo and a single by Isaac Ballou. Yezzo hit a solo homer with one out in the fifth, and Spencer Kieboom doubled home Difo in the sixth to give Hagerstown a 3-0 lead.

The visitors pulled away with five runs in the seventh inning. Yezzo led off with his second home run of the game. David Masters followed with a single and moved to third on two wild pitches.   Carlos Lopez walked, and Masters and Lopez both scored on a double by Rafael Bautista. Bautista stole third and then scored on a double by Ballou. Drew Ward's two-out single scored Ballou with the fifth run of the inning, giving the Suns an 8-0 lead.

The Legends scored a run in the seventh on a double by Mauricio Ramos, a ground out, and Chad Johnson's sacrifice fly. They added a final run in the eighth when Fred Ford singled, moved to second on Carlos Garcia's ground out, to third on a wild pitch and scored on Kenny Diekroeger's single.

Ronald Pena (1-0), who worked the fifth, sixth and seventh innings, got the win. Legends starter Pedro Fernandez (0-6), who allowed three runs in five and one-third innings, took the loss.

The Suns have won the first three games in the series, which concludes Sunday. Game time is 6:05 p.m.
