Berti Has Big Night As Fisher Cats Roll

Walters Dominates In 8-2 Win Over Trenton

TRENTON, NJ---Andy Burns and Brad Glenn drilled two-run homers in the top of the sixth and Jon Berti hit a grand slam in the seventh as the Fisher Cats rolled to an 8-2 win in Trenton on Wednesday night.

With two outs in the sixth, Jon Berti tripled for the second time in the game. Burns followed with his 13th homer. After Melky Mesa reached on an infield single, Glenn homered in his first game with the Fisher Cats after a three-month stint with Triple-A Buffalo.

After singles by Mike McDade, Michael Crouse and Jorge Flores loaded the bases in the seventh, Berti hit his seventh home run and first career grand slam for New Hampshire (63-66).

P. J. Walters (2-1) earned the win for the Fisher Cats, working seven scoreless frames. He allowed six hits. Did not walk a batter and struck out six. After Blake McFarland worked a scoreless eighth inning, Trenton scored twice in the bottom of the ninth off Scott Gracey.

Starter Daniel Camarena (1-6) took the loss for the Thunder (60-70).

The Fisher Cats and Thunder conclude the series on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. New Hampshire turns to RHP Scott Copeland (8-7, 3.70). Trenton will start RHP Jaron Long (5-1, 2.96). Coverage with Bob Lipman begins at 6:45 p.m. on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network and at www.nhfishercats.com.
