Perez, Lambson to Visit Flour Bluff Whataburger

CORPUS CHRISTI - Hooks pitchers Tyson Perez and Mitchell Lambson will sign autographs and visit with fans between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday at Whataburger location No. 123, 1121 Waldron Road.

KFTX-FM has scheduled a live remote broadcast.

A portion of Friday's lunch proceeds benefits Goodwill Industries of South Texas. Bring your gently-used clothing items, place in the large fry box and pick up a voucher for a new 2014 Hooks/Goodwill t-shirt and a special offer coupon from Whataburger.

Perez, 24, is a 6-foot-3, 215-pound right-hander who was selected by Houston in the 17th round of the 2011 draft. The Californian has appeared in 27 Hooks contests since promotion from High-A Lancaster on May 28 and tops the team with 10 saves. At the Double-A level, Perez is 4-0 with a 2.27 ERA and .192 batting average against. His professional record is 19-18.

Lambson, also 24, is a former Arizona State Sun Devil who grew up in Oregon. The Astros took the 6-foot-1, 205-pound southpaw two rounds after Perez. Lambson has crafted a 16-11 pro mark. He's 2-0 as a Hook in 21 appearances since arriving from the JetHawks on June 19, posting a 1.24 ERA and limiting the opposition to a .208 batting average.
