Fightins Unwrap 2015 Promotional Schedule
Anchored by the Mega Blast fireworks series and an Opening Night Fan's Choice Fleece Blanket giveaway, the Reading Fightin Phils, Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, have announced their 2015 promotional schedule.
"In the spirit of the holiday season, we decided to gift our fans an early look at our 2015 Promotional Schedule," said Fightins General Manager Scott Hunsicker. "Our schedule is filled with timeless giveaways and popular entertainment acts that will be sure to get Fightins fans pumped up for another baseball season at America's Classic Ballpark."

Now that the promotional schedule has been released, the Fightins Ticket Office is taking reservations for groups and orders for season tickets and mini-plans for the upcoming 2015 season. By placing your order for groups and season tickets now, fans will be able to get priority on tickets before they go on sale to the general public in February. Tickets are available by calling 610-370-BALL, by logging on Fightins.com, or by visiting FirstEnergy Stadium.
The Fightins will kick off their 49th season affiliated with the Phillies on Friday, April 17th at 7:05 p.m. against the Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A affiliate of the 2014 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants. The first 3,000 adults 15 & over will receive a Fan's Choice Fleece Blanket thanks to CJ's Tire and Automotive Services. Fans can vote through the Baseballtown Insider from their selection of Kenny Giles, Cole Hamels, Jimmy Rollins, Carlos Ruiz, America's Classic Ballpark, Crazy Hot Dog Vendor, F-Fist Logo, or Phillies affiliates over an eight-week period to determine the Opening Night giveaway.
Earlier in the week, the Fightins announced the return of four Mega Blast fireworks shows and a 4th of July Mega Fireworks show that will each break the previous show's record as the largest fireworks display in the history of America's Ballpark. Mega Blast III takes place on Saturday, May 2nd with Mega Blast IV following on Saturday, June 13th, Mega Blast V on Saturday, July 18th, and finally, Mega Blast VI on Saturday, August 22nd. Each one of those five shows will be presented by Savage 61 Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
Along with the five "Mega" fireworks shows, the Fightins will continue to put on the crowd-favorite fireworks shows with 24 displays on the slate for 2015.
2015 marks the 20th anniversary of the 1995 Eastern League Championship Reading Phillies team. The Fightins will celebrate the crowning season first on Saturday, May 2nd when 17-year major league veteran Scott Rolen and former Reading all-time home run leader Dan Held are welcomed back to be inducted into the Reading Baseball Hall of Fame. Then, on Monday, June 22nd, the first 2,500 adults will receive a 1995 R-Phils Championship Throwback Hat.
In addition to the throwback hat, the Fightins will be giving an F-Fist Game Cap on April 17th to the first 2,500 adults 15 & over and a Feathered R Game Cap on August 17th to the first 2,000 adults 15 & over for the first time since the team's rebranding in 2013. August 29th will feature the annual Harley Game Cap for the first 2,500 adults 18 & over.
Fightins fans will be able to model the same jersey Kenny Giles, Maikel Franco, and Jesse Biddle have made popular when the club gives away a Fightins Adult Replica Game Jersey on Tuesday, August 11th. Other adult t-shirt giveaways included in the 2015 promotional schedule are the Phillies Affiliates T-Shirt on Wednesday, July 8th and a 65th Season of America's Classic Ballpark T-Shirt on Monday, July 27th. All three shirts will be available to the first 2,500 adults 15 & over on each of the games.
Of course, there will be plenty of giveaways for kids in 2015 starting with Sunday, May 3rd when the first 2,000 kids 14 & under receive a Fightins Fleece Earflap Hat w/ Dangling Tassels. Kids will also receive a Fightins Ostrich Game Cap on Sunday, May 31st, a Fightins Soccer Ball on Sunday, June 14th, a Fightins Team Baseball Card Set on Sunday, July 5th, a Fightins Replica Game Jersey on Tuesday, July 7th, a Crazy Hot Dog Vendor Piggy Bank on Sunday, July 19th, a Fightins F-Fist Game Cap on Tuesday, August 8th, and a Fightins Football on Sunday, August 23rd.
The beloved and wildly popular Phillie Phanatic will make his way to Baseballtown on three occasions in 2015. Baseball's best mascot will entertain the masses at FirstEnergy Stadium on Sunday, April 19th, Wednesday, June 24th, and Sunday, August 9th.
After a long hiatus away from the friendly confines of America's Classic Ballpark, the world famous Zooperstars will be appearing on Sunday, August 30th. Featuring characters like Centipete Rose, Clammy Sosa, and Shaquille O'Seal among others, the Zooperstars have been seen worldwide on ESPN, America's Got Talent, and NBC's Today show.
2015 will also see the return of popular yearly promotions like Belated Mother's Day on Sunday, May 17th where the first 2,000 women 15 & over will receive a Fightins Pink T-Shirt and Father's Day where the first 2,000 men 15 & over will receive a Fightins Bucket Hat. School kids from around the Greater Berks County Area will be welcome to FirstEnergy Stadium for Education Day on May 6th, May 20th, and June 1st and receive a Fightins Team Photo. Campers will also receive a Fightins Team Photo on July 29th for the annual Camp Day outing.
Fans will be encouraged to wake up early and third shift workers will be welcome to stay on July 6th for the 14th Annual Morning Game. All those who come before 8:00 a.m. will receive a free hot dog and coffee as per morning game tradition.
Other annual promotions that will be returning in 2015 will be Gluttony Night with Chili Fest and Wing Fest on Tuesday, June 9th, Christmas in July on Thursday, July 16th, and Harley Night on Saturday, August 29th.
