Hey everyone,
Welcome inside the ballpark! This year, we want to give you a VIP look at what's going on at the ballpark as we set up our promotional schedule. Each week, we'll be giving you the highlights of each month, and then the following week, I'll be following up with a note just like this one, giving you the inside scoop about each individual night. There are still some nights that are a work in progress, it's 72 days, after all! But, for the most part, we've got the 2015 season ready to go. And trust us, this is going to be one for the books. You're going to have an incredible time at a variety of promotional games - there's something for everyone! We hope you enjoy the inside look at what we're doing. Thursday, April 9th - 6:35PM - OPENING NIGHT - Brewers/Sky Sox T-shirt Giveaway
We're in the process of tweaking the design on a new Sky Sox/Brewers t-shirt that will be given away to the first 1,500 fans through the gates on opening night presented by Gray Line. We're excited to celebrate our new affiliation with the Brew Crew, and with this giveaway, you can be the first to get your hands on some of that excitement!
Friday, April 10th - 6:35PM - Friday Night Fireworks w/Country-Western Theme
We all know that the best Fireworks shows in Southern Colorado are right here at Security Service Field, and we're happy each and every night we see you fans walking out after a big night. But we thought to ourselves, how can we make a fireworks show better? Each of our spectacular Friday night fireworks shows in 2015 will be themed to a specific kind of music or a certain era of time. Thanks to our new friends at Universal Music, we'll be giving away CDs during the night, celebrating our theme. For some nights, we may even have some autographed memorabilia! For our first Friday night, our theme will be Country/Western. Yee-Haw!!
Saturday, April 11th - 5:05PM - The World Famous ZOOperstars Entertain!
On Saturday, April 11th, we're going back to a fan favorite and bringing in the World Famous ZOOperstars. These hilarious, giant inflatable characters have been seen on America's Got Talent (on NBC) and were last been seen here at Security Service Field on July 5th and 6th of 2012. When we were unable to shoot fireworks because of the Waldo Canyon Fire, it was the ZOOperstars that we called on to make that a great independence weekend. We're certain that they're going to make opening weekend of 2015 memorable as well!
Sunday, April 12th - 1:35PM - Sox The Fox's Birthday!
On Sunday, April 12th, Its Sox The Fox's Birthday!! "When exactly is Sox's birthday?" is a question that we get asked a whole lot. Well, Sox's Birthday is a lot like Thanksgiving in how it falls on the calendar. Sox's birthday is always the first home Sunday of the season. Sox will be joined by many of his favorite mascot friends who will be helping him celebrate the day. For instance, I just got off the phone with The Bird from the United States Air Force Academy. It wasn't a very productive conversation (he really doesn't say much) but he called me back, so I'll take that to mean he's coming.
OPENING WEEKEND REMINDER
And don't forget, the first 10,000 fans through the gates all of opening weekend will receive a new 2015 custom refrigerator magnet courtesy of our friends at Ace Hardware. This way, you've always got the Sky Sox schedule at the ready!
Monday, April 13th - 6:35PM - Kid's Eat Free Monday AND Must Win Monday
Monday the 13th marks the return of an old favorite, along with the debut of a new one! Kid's Eat Free Monday presented by our Friends at Arc Thrift Stores is back for a fifth consecutive season. All kids 12 and under will receive a free kids meal (a hot dog, a bag of chips and a soda) with a paid ticket. And it's our first "Must Win Monday" of the season. This brand new promotion is all about winning, both for the Sky Sox, and for YOU! If the Sky Sox win on this Monday game, your tickets are then valid for any other Monday game for the remainder of the 2015 season. So come on out to the ballpark and root for the Sky Sox, and potentially your freebee ticket!
Tuesday, April 14th - 6:35PM - South Colorado Springs Nissan $2 Tuesday
Two-Dollar Tuesday is a staple here at the ballpark, and we wouldn't have it any other way! We will continue to have your favorite $2 Tickets (yes, box and upper reserved), parking is still just two bucks, and for those of you over 21, we still have two-dollar Coors and Coors Light drafts. Tuesdays will still continue to be the best and most affordable party in the city.
Wednesday, April 15th - 6:35PM - TAX DAY CELEBRATION
It's a secret… like your refund.
Thursday, April 16th - 11:05AM - Math Day
These days are incredible. We bring in area youngsters from the Colorado Springs area to watch a ballgame with a mathematics twist! Gene Abrams, Professor of Mathematics at UCCS has designed a special series of math related questions that we will be asking during the game. We'll also be playing a fun game before the ballgame starts facing off eight students for the privilege of throwing a first pitch. And for those of you who may be stuck at the office: take the day off from work and come to the game. Your boss won't mind. We promise. We'll even write you a note.
Saturday, April 25th - 6:05PM - Special Saturday Fireworks Show (Theme: Classic Rock)
Saturday the 25th starts the second home stand in April, and with only one other fireworks show scheduled for the entire month, we figured that we should add a show! Just like the first Friday of the year, we have an excellent theme that our fireworks music will be set to, and that we'll have CD giveaways geared around. For all you classic rock fans: it's time to party.
Sunday, April 26th - 1:35PM - Team Poster Giveaway & Autograph Session
This old favorite, presented by Security Service Federal Credit Union, returns on the second Sunday of the year. We do this promo early in the season for a big reason. Here's why: the team photo is taken on Sky Sox media day. This year, media day is Wednesday, April 8th, the day before opening day. On this day, a team photo is taken with all of the players on the opening day roster. We immediately take that photo and turn it into an 11"x17" poster and get 1,500 printed to be given away on April 26th. Once the posters are given away at the front gate, fans are invited down on to the field to get their posters signed by the players themselves. The quick turnaround allows the poster to have a nearly identical roster to the April 26th roster only three weeks later. This way, fans can have the players sign on themselves on the photo! Pretty cool, right?
Monday, April 27th - 6:35 - Kid's Eat Free Monday/Must Win Monday
We already talked about how awesome Monday's are going to be this year; keep in mind, if the Sky Sox win on April 13th and you've got a used ticket from that game then your ticket to this Monday could be free! Have we peaked your interest?

Thursday, April 30th - 6:35PM - Police/Fire Appreciation Night
April 30th will be our second annual Police and Fire Appreciation Night presented by California Casualty Insurance. We will have given free tickets to the every day heroes in our local Police and Fire departments to attend the game and it's our chance as civilians to come out to the ballpark and say thank you for what they do for us each and every day!
So there we are, everyone. Now you know what April will look like at the ballpark! We can't wait to have you join us for all of the FUN! Keep an eye out next week - we'll give you an in-depth look at the Month of May!
Remember, anything can happen on any given day in baseball, let's see what happens on OPENING DAY!
