John Curtiss placed on 7-day DL

Kernels roster at 24 active players

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that RHP John Curtiss has been placed on the 7-day disabled list with a concussion, retroactive to April 17. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.

Curtiss suffered the concussion during the Kernels 3-1 loss to Peoria on Thursday, April 16th. In two starts for the Kernels, he has a 1-1 record and 4.63 ERA, allowing seven runs (six earned) on 19 hits, walking one and striking out 13 in 11.2 IP.

The Twins did not announce a corresponding move. With today's transaction, the Kernels roster is at 24 active players, one below the MWL maximum of 25, with eight players currently on the DL and one player on the restricted list.

The Kernels begin a six game road trip tonight at 6:30 PM against the Burlington Bees. They return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Friday, April 24th to open a three game home stand against the Kane County Cougars.
