April 26, 2015

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Pensacola Blue Wahoos had the tying and winning runs on third and second with two out against the Biloxi Shuckers.

But Sean Buckley grounded out to short to end the game. Biloxi took the first game of Sunday's doubleheader, 2-1, and improved their record to 5-1 against Pensacola this season at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium.

Pensacola's Buckley had tied the game, 1-1, when his single to left scored Ryan Wright from second base. It was the first run in eight innings that the Blue Wahoos managed off of Biloxi righty Brooks Hall, who gave up all seven hits in his six innings of work Sunday.

Biloxi won the game in the fifth inning when Yadiel Rivera sent a line drive to right center that scored Adam Weisenburger, who led off the inning with his second double of the game.

Shortstop Juan Perez extended his hitting streak to eight games with a double and single in three at bats. Second baseman Ryan Wright was 2-4 with a run scored. Right fielder Jesse Winker got on base on a single and two walks in four plate appearances. Buckley went 1-4 and drove in the only Blue Wahoos run of the game.
