Braves blank Legends 3-0

April 28, 2015

(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) Brandon Barker and Brad Roney combined on a five-hit shutout, and the Rome Braves scored all three of their runs in the top of the third inning in a 3-0 win over the Lexington Legends Tuesday night.

Barker (1-2) worked the first seven innings for his first victory of the season. He allowed four hits, struck out seven batters and walked none. Roney pitched the eighth and ninth and picked up his first save. He gave up one hit, walked one batter and struck out four.

Bryan De La Rosa hit a solo homer for Rome with one out in the third.   Omar Obregon grounded out, but a single by Ozzie Albies, a stolen base and a double by Keith Curcio produced a second run. Curcio came home on a base hit by Jordan Edgerton.

Legends starter Matt Tenuta (1-3) was the losing pitcher.

The series continues with an Education Day game Wednesday. First pitch is set for 10:05 a.m.
