Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity All-Star Softball Classic - Monday, August 10 at McCoy Stadium
The Pawtucket Red Sox will host the Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity All-Star Softball Classic, featuring Magic Johnson, at McCoy Stadium on Monday, August 10 at 12:05 pm. Presented by Plainridge Park Casino, Elmwood Sportscenter, and Barrington Printing. Gates will open at 10:30 am for the game between the Magic Johnson/Jeffrey Osborne All-Stars and the New England Patriots Alumni Celebrity All-Stars. All ticket proceeds will benefit the Jeffrey Osborne Foundation and the Skeffington Pawtucket Red Sox Charitable Trust.
Expected to attend and play in this charity game are NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson along with his star Los Angeles Laker teammate James Worthy. Others from the world of entertainment who plan to be in attendance include Smokey Robinson, George Lopez, Chris Tucker, Johnny Gill, Sinbad, and Cedric "The Entertainer". The West team will face a "who's who" of former New England Patriot players who will comprise the East team led by former Patriots standout QB Steve Grogan, center Pete Brock and defensive backs Roland James and Ty Law.
Tickets for the event are on sale at the PawSox Box Office at McCoy, on-line at www.pawsox.com, or over the phone by calling (401) 724-7300. All tickets will be priced the same as regular-season PawSox tickets which are $13 for reserved box seats and $9 for general admission. General admission are also $6 for children (aged 12 & under) and senior citizens.
There will also be a special VIP Barbecue in the right field party tent. The BBQ will be highlighted by an exclusive autograph session with many of the celebrities. The VIP Barbecue event will be open to the public and tickets may be purchased in advance for a donation of $40.
