Hooks' College Football Saturday Aug. 29

CORPUS CHRISTI - College football season is almost here.

Almost… but not quite. So, if you can't wait (or don't want to) wait another week to get into the spirit, join the Hooks and the 2015 Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas football team at Whataburger Field this Saturday for College Football Saturday, presented by your Coastal Bend Chevy Dealers.

"There are thousands of college football fans in the area, and this is a great way for each of them to represent their teams," Hooks president Ken Schrom said. "We hope everyone who comes out to the ballpark will wear the colors of their favorite teams. Many of our players are huge college football fans, as are most members of our front-office staff.

"We'll also welcome the entire Texas A&M-Kingsville team that evening, along with new head coach Daren Wilkinson. The Javelinas are our local college football team, and they have a remarkable tradition. This is a way for the Hooks and our fans to show our support."

⇨A vocal ensemble from Texas A&M-Kingsville performs the National Anthem

⇨The 13 Javelina football seniors sign autographs pregame on the concourse

⇨There will be a silent auction of college football items. Proceeds benefit South Texas Special Olympics.

⇨Texas college fight songs will be played throughout the evening

⇨Football-themed on-field contests during the game

⇨The first 2,500 fans through the gates receive a Hooks Poncho from your Coastal Bend Chevy Dealers
