Baysox bats force a game 5

The ELCS is now tied at 2-2

The Reading Fightin Phils (2-2) fell victim to the bats of the Bowie Baysox (2-2) as they lost 9-1 on Friday night. With the loss, game five will be played tomorrow night for the championship.  

Bowie scored three runs off Ben Lively (1-1) in the bottom of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead. Garabez Rosa hit a two-run double with one out while Chance Sisco added a sacrifice fly. Cameron Perkins scored on a wild pitch by Baysox starter David Hess in the top of the fourth inning that got Reading on the scoreboard. Trey Mancini hit a two-out RBI single off Liely in the bottom of the fifth that gave Bowie a 4-1 lead. 

They Baysox scored three more runs off Lively in the bottom of the seventh inning to take a 7-1 lead as Quincy Latimore hit a two-run single and Chance Sisco grounded out to drive in a run. Lively left the game after six innings. Ryan O'Sullivan tossed 2/3 scoreless innings in relief of Lively. Tom Windle came into the game with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning.  

Bowie scored two runs off Bowie in the bottom of the eighth inning to extend their lead to 9-1. Mike Yastrzemski hit a sacrifice fly and Trey Mancini hit a RBI single. David Hess (2-0) earned the win as he allowed just one run through seven innings.  

The Fightin Phils just managed four hits. Dylan Cozens finished the night going 2 for 4.  

The Fightin Phils and Bowie Baysox will meet again on Friday night in Game Five of the Eastern League Championship Series at Prince George's Stadium. First pitch is at 6:05 pm. Fans can listen to the game on CBS Sports Radio 1240 AM/98-5 FM and fightins.com beginning at 5:35 pm.
