PawSox host Enchanted Village for all fans December 5

November 24, 2015

The Pawtucket Red Sox will offer the first-ever "PawSox Enchanted Village" Holiday Party at McCoy Stadium on Saturday, December 5 from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. This free event is open to fans of all ages and will turn the ballpark into a winter wonderland for all who visit. PawSox outfielder Bryce Brentz and former Red Sox great and current PawSox hitting coach Rich Gedman will be in attendance at McCoy to meet fans. Mascots Paws and Sox as well as Santa Claus will also greet fans young and old. In addition, Red Sox mascot Wally will make a quick special appearance to welcome fans at the main gate.

The Holiday Party at McCoy has undergone a facelift and will feature a number of unique changes. Fans will be greeted by carolers from the Jacqueline M. Walsh Chorus Group in Pawtucket when they arrive through the McCoy Main Gate, before traversing a special "behind-the-scenes" path throughout the ballpark. As they tour the decorated hallway of McCoy and stop to look at the memorabilia along the walls, fans will be able to enter several "workshops" in the suites to indulge in various activities and refreshments. Among the highlights in one of the suites, fans of all ages can audition for a chance to sing the National Anthem before a PawSox game at McCoy next season. Youngsters are also invited to take batting practice inside the home batting tunnel, which has been transformed into a Fenway Park-like wiffle ball field.

Paws and Sox will be stationed inside the PawSox Home Clubhouse and will enjoy meeting their young fans and listening to their holiday wishes. Weather-permitting, folks can wander out from the PawSox Clubhouse to the home team dugout and to the field, where they will be greeted by a large Christmas Tree at home plate. Families are welcome to take photos around the tree.

To return inside, fans can walk through the visiting team dugout and head in to the Visiting Clubhouse, which will be stocked with food and drink including traditional ballpark fare such as hot dogs, popcorn, chips, and other refreshments.

Other surprises are in store during the PawSox Enchanted Village. Admission is free for all. Fans are encouraged to donate a new, unwrapped toy for a child to be placed in the Toys for Tots box inside the main entrance gate. Gifts will support the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program. Thank you.
