Hartford, Conn- The National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA) has informed the Hartford Yard Goats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, that broadcaster Jeff Dooley has been selected as the 2015 Connecticut Sportscaster of the Year. Dooley is the lead play-by-play broadcaster for the Hartford Yard Goats on iHeart Media's News Radio 1410 (WPOP) and MiLB.TV.

"We are very happy for Jeff and it's terrific to see that he is getting acknowledged by his peers for the hard work that he puts into his broadcasts," Yard Goats General Manager Tim Restall said. "This award is well deserved and we are thrilled our fans will have the opportunity to listen to Jeff announce the Yard Goats inaugural season."

"I am extremely honored to be recognized by NSSA as the Connecticut Sportscaster of the Year," said Dooley. "I want to thank NSSA for this wonderful honor, and of course thank my wife Marne' and sons Joe and Ryan for all of their continued support with my hectic schedule. I am very grateful to the Yard Goats organization for their commitment to radio and allowing me to deliver the game to our wonderful fans each night."

Dooley is set to begin his first season as the radio voice of the Yard Goats after spending the past 18 seasons as the lead broadcaster for the Rock Cats. He was selected as play-by-play announcer for Regional Telecast on Fox Sports North (FSN-Upper Midwest) and his work was featured in a segment on Colorado Rockies Television Network (ROOT SPORTS). His baseball highlights have aired on the Minnesota Twins and Colorado Rockies Radio Networks and have been heard on ESPN's SportsCenter Top 10 Plays as well as Yahoo Sports, CBS Sports, Fox Sports, NBC Sports, NESN, SB Nation, and USA Today.
