Blue Wahoos and Ice Flyers Bringing Pensacola Together

Pensacola, Fla. - Pensacola's two professional teams are bringing the community together, partnering to recognize each other while also raising money for the Children's Hospital at Sacred Heart in Pensacola.

The Pensacola Ice Flyers will host Blue Wahoos Night on Saturday, Feb. 13, against the Columbus Cottonmouths, while the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, the Double-A affiliate of MLB's Cincinnati Reds, will also host an Ice Flyers themed night on Saturday, Aug. 27. 

The Ice Flyers will also hold their annual Teddy Bear Toss, sponsored by Sacred Heart Health System, on the same evening. Fans are encouraged to bring new teddy bears and stuffed animals to toss onto the ice after the Ice Flyers score their first goal of the game. They will be collected and delivered by the Ice Flyers to the patients at the Children's Hospital. 

The Ice Flyers will wear special Blue Wahoos themed jerseys during the game that will be auctioned off immediately following the game. The Blue Wahoos will also wear special Ice Flyers themed jerseys on Aug. 27 with proceeds from both jersey auctions going to benefit the Children's Hospital. 

There will be a "Seventh Inning Stretch" during the third media timeout of the second period and fans will be encouraged to sing along to "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." Other baseball-themed events will take place throughout the game and intermissions, the Blue Wahoos' mascot Kazoo will make an appearance, and fans can obtain Wahoos ticket information at their concourse table.

The Ice Flyers are also extending the group rate price points to the Blue Wahoos season ticket holders through the Ice Flyers front office, while the Wahoos are doing the same for the Ice Flyers season ticket holders at the Blue Wahoos ticket office for their Ice Flyers Night.
