Kernels, LumberKings Rained Out Thursday

Doubleheader set for Saturday after series opens with one game Friday

CLINTON, IOWA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and the Clinton LumberKings were postponed Thursday due to rain at Ashford University Field. These teams will make up Thursday's contest with a doubleheader Saturday at 5:00 p.m. CT. Friday's regularly-scheduled 6:30 p.m. game will now serve as the series opener.

Following the first game of the series Friday, Saturday's twin bill will feature two seven-inning games, and game two will begin approximately 30 minutes after the first game ends.

Game one of this four-game series will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Clinton. The probable pitchers for the series opener, who were scheduled to face each other Thursday, are Kernels right-hander Sam Gibbons (1-1, 4.66 ERA) and LumberKings left-hander Nick Wells (0-2, 12.96 ERA). The next Kernels homestand takes place from Tuesday, April 26 through Sunday, May 1. The Kernels Ticket Office is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays. The ticket office is closed on Sundays except on Kernels Sunday home dates when it will open at 11:00 a.m.
