April 25, 2016

TRENTON, NJ - Another game, and more late inning heroics for the Fisher Cats. Dwight Smith Jr. singled in the tying run in the top of the ninth and K. C. Hobson hit a game-winning home run in the 10th as the Fisher Cats topped Trenton 7-6 on Monday night at ARM & HAMMER Park.

Hobson led off the 10th with his first home run of the season off Giovanny Gallegos (1-1).

John Stilson (1-0) worked two scoreless innings in relief for his first win of 2016.

New Hampshire (7-9) failed to cash in on opportunities against Thunder starter Cale Coshow, who allowed one unearned run before leaving in the sixth.

The Fisher Cats took a lead for the first time in the contest with four runs in the top of the seventh inning when Jon Berti was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, Smith Jr. singled in a run, Rowdy Tellez hit a sacrifice fly and another run scored on a wild pitch for a 5-4 lead.

Trenton (10-8) claimed the lead back in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring two runs on a single by Kyle Higashioka (3-for-5, RBI).

In the top of the ninth, Roemon Fields (3-for-5) singled, moved to second on a botched pickoff attempt, and advanced to third on a passed ball. He scored on Smith's second RBI of the night to make it 6-6.
