Harrisburg Snaps Hartford's 9 Game Win Streak

May 3, 2016

HARRISBURG, PA- The Harrisburg Senators snapped the Hartford Yard Goats 9-game winning streak with a come-from-behind 5-4 victory Monday night at FNB Field.

Hartford (18-5) had not lost a game since April 19 at New Hampshire. It was also the Senators (9-13) first win in three games against the Yard Goats.

The Yard Goats led 3-1 on the strength of a 3-run triple by Rosell Herrara in the top of the fourth inning. But the Senators tied it in the last of the fifth on a bases loaded two-out single by Chris Bostick off of starter Carlos Hernandez.

The Senators took the lead for good, scoring an unearned run in the sixth inning, after Hernandez retired the first two hitters on strike outs. Pitcher Tyler Mapes was allowed to bat and doubled over the centerfielder's head and then scored on an infield hit by Rafael Bautista to first and throwing error by first baseman Correll Prime.

Harrisburg scored a much needed insurance run in the eighth, because Prime hit his first Double-A home run into the rightfield bullpen in the top of the ninth for the Colorado Rockies' affiliate.

Herrera led the Hartford attack, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. The five runs allowed by Hartford pitching was the most since it's last loss at New Hampshire.

Hartford plays at Harrisburg on Tuesday night at 6:30 PM. Harrison Musgrave (LHP) will pitch for Hartford against Lucas Giolito (RHP) for the Washington Nationals affiliate. The game will be broadcast on News Radio 1410, WPOP.
