Homestand: WS trophy, fireworks, All-Star card set and more

May 30, 2016

Lexington Legends fans can get an up-close look at Major League Baseball's World Series trophy as part of the Legends' next homestand, which opens Monday night. The trophy is coming to Lexington as part of a tour to help minor league affiliates of the World Series champion Kansas City Royals celebrate the Royals' win in the 2015 Series.

The Legends will also salute nine outstanding players in Legends history with a special All-Star Collector Card Set to be given away at Friday's game.

The six-game homestand also includes discounts on food and drinks, 3-D fireworks and a weekday afternoon game.

The Legends will take on the Greensboro Grasshoppers, an affiliate of the Miami Marlins, in a three-game series before the Rome Braves, an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, come in for three.

"This is one of the big home stands of the year," said Legends President/CEO Andy Shea. "The Legends are at home all week, and there's something for fans of all ages. And we're very excited about having the World Series trophy at Whitaker Bank Ballpark for two nights."
