Drillers Even Series with Sunday Triumph

TULSA - Lars Anderson went 3-for-3 Sunday afternoon, including a two-out RBI single in the seventh inning which secured a 7-6 Drillers victory at ONEOK Field.

The Hooks (9-8, 56-31) trailed 6-3 after six innings. With one away in the seventh, Conrad Gregor cracked a double to right-center. Alejandro Garcia followed with a walk and James Ramsay lined out to center field, bringing Jack Mayfeld to the plate. Mayfield belted a Joe Broussard 1-0 pitch over the left-field fence to level the score.

Michael Freeman, who allowed a run in the sixth, was greeted by a Kyle Garlick double in the seventh. Freeman (3-3) retired the next two hitters, but Anderson snuck a base hit thru the ride side, plating what proved to be the winning run.

Edison Frias made the start for the Hooks and worked a pair of scoreless frames before allowing an unearned run in the third.

Tulsa (10-7, 47-39) starter Tim Shibuya needed just 21 pitches to navigate the first three innings, retiring all nine men he faced.

In the fourth, Shibuya hit two batters and walked one, loading the bases with two outs. Chase McDonald notch an infield single and Mott Hyde drove in a pair with a base hit into center field, staking the Hooks to a 3-1 lead.

The Drillers answered in the home half by sending eight to bat against Frias. The four-run outburst featured a trio of doubles by Anderson, Tyler Ogle and Brandon Trinkwon.

Ogle and Drew Maggi, batting 8th and 9th in the Tulsa lineup, went 6-for-8 with three runs, two doubles and two RBIs.

Anderson is 11-for-22 with five doubles and 10 RBIs over the course of a seven-game hitting streak.

In the last five games against the Hooks, the Drillers are batting .350 with 18 doubles and four home runs while averaging 8.6 runs per contest.

Corpus Christi endeavors a series victory Monday night. Lisalverto Bonilla (0-0, 1.38) is slated to pitch for the Drillers. The Hooks counter with Texas League ERA leader Keegan Yuhl (7-2, 2.60).
