AquaSox Blast Boise, 17-1

Frogs set single-game highs in runs and hits
August 31, 2016

BOISE, ID. - On Tuesday night at Memorial Stadium in Boise, the Everett AquaSox offense blew up. In a good way. The AquaSox set a single game season-high with 17 runs and 20 hits in a 17-1 blowout at Memorial Stadium in Boise before a crowd of 3,554.

Three AquaSox players finished the game with four hits. Eric Filia, the Northwest League leader in batting, raised his average to .360 going 4-for-6 with two runs scored and two RBI. David Greer was also 4-for-6 with a double, a run scored, and three RBI. Austin Grebeck extended his hitting streak to 13 games and batted 4-for-6 with three runs scored. Donnie Walton was the AquaSox player of the game going 3-for-6 with two doubles, a triple, three runs scored and two RBI.

It was an offensive embarrassment of riches, indeed. The AquaSox previous high for runs and hits in a game was accomplished at Vancouver on August 11 when the AquaSox scored 16 runs on 19 hits in a 16-7 win over the Canadians.

Kristian Brito belted his seventh homer of the year and finished with three RBI. Brito continues to lead the circuit with 43 RBI. Reggie McClain (3-3) worked his longest outing as a pro going six innings. He allowed seven hits, one run, walked two and struck out four while throwing 77 pitches.
