Hooks Among Attendance Leaders
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Minor League Baseball has released its attendance figures for the 2016 season, and the Corpus Christi Hooks finished seventh among 30 Double-A clubs, third in the Texas League, and 36th out of 160 domestic teams.
The Hooks drew 350,964 over 68 dates, passing the 5,000,000 mark in cumulative total attendance before a game against Midland on Thursday, July 28.
Since the Whataburger Field gates opened for the first time on Sunday, April 17, 2005 (Hooks vs. RockHounds), 5,097,675 fans have passed through the turnstiles for Hooks Baseball.
In 2016, 41,377,202 fans enjoyed Minor League Baseball, marking the 12th straight year of attendance over 41 million. The 176 clubs across 15 leagues combined to record the ninth-highest attendance in history.
