Promotions, start times announced for 2017
(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) The Lexington Legends will offer their fans a combination of brand-new promotions along with traditional favorites in 2017.
The Legends announced promotions and start times for the 2017 schedule Monday (Nov. 21). Tickets for individual home games will be available for purchase December 8, much earlier than ever before. Group outings and a variety of season ticket plans are already on sale. Fans can again take advantage of special weekly promotions and discounts at Whitaker Bank Ballpark, and those who enjoy fireworks shows will have 22 of them to look forward to next season.
For the first time, the Legends will offer $1 Nights on Tuesdays, and will continue to offer Hunt Brothers pizza at half-price on Wednesdays.
Fans can look for unique themed-jersey nights in 2017, in addition to the patriotic theme worn by the Legends on or around Memorial Day and Independence Day. Details will be announced later.
Other highlights:
On April 24, the Legends will recognize former Legend and 2016 World Series Most Valuable Player Ben Zobrist with a giveaway of a Zobrist t-shirt.
The Legends will feature Mother/Son Date Night May 22 and Father/Daughter Date Night June 26.
On July 21, the Legends will welcome Morehead State University and will give away a bobblehead depicting MSU All-American and current NBA star Kenneth Faried of the Denver Nuggets.
In addition to Bark in the Park every Thursday, when fans can bring their dogs to the game, the Legends are offering Pig at the Park for pet pigs Sunday, April 30 and Meow on the Mound for cats Friday, May 26.
Whitaker Bank Ballpark will serve as host for wide-ranging theme nights, including Harry Potter Night May 12, Super Hero Night May 22, and Star Wars Night July 7.
As always, the Legends will salute the military with Military Appreciation Night July 8, and will recognize several charitable organizations with special nights throughout the season.
Start times: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday games will begin at 7:05 p.m. Education Day games Wednesday, April 19 and Wednesday April 26 will begin at 10:05 a.m. All other Wednesday home games will begin at 12:35 p.m.
All Saturday games will begin at 6:35 p.m., and all Sunday games will begin at 2:05 p.m.
There are two scheduled doubleheaders. On Sunday, July 16, the first game will start at 2:05 p.m. On Wednesday, August 30, the first game will begin at 5:35 p.m. South Atlantic League doubleheader games are a regulation seven innings in length.
Each day of the week will bring a special promotion and/or discount:
Mondays: Every Monday night is Members Heritage Credit Union Kids Eat 'n' Play for Free night. Each child age 12 and under will receive a voucher for a meal as they enter the ballpark, and each will receive three free plays in the Aetna Kids Play Area on the left field side.
Tuesdays: New next season, all Tuesdays are $1 Nights. Hot dogs, popcorn, Pepsi products, and ice cream sandwiches will sell for one dollar each.
Wednesdays: Hunt Brothers pizza will sell for half price on Wednesdays.
Thursdays: Every Thursday home game will offer two fan favorites: Kentucky Ale Thirsty Thursday, on which beer and Pepsi products will sell for one dollar each, and Pepsi Bark in the Park, when fans are welcome to bring their dogs to the game.
Fridays and Saturdays: In 2017, a fireworks show will follow every Friday and Saturday home game. There are 11 Friday games and nine Saturday games on the schedule. Fireworks shows will also be presented on opening night, Thursday, April 13, and Independence Day, Tuesday, July 4. At every fireworks show, 1,000 3-D fireworks glasses will be given away.
The fireworks shows on April 13, July 4 and August 19 will be "Mega-Blast" shows - each bigger than the last, and each bigger than any in the history of the ballpark.
Sundays: Each Sunday is a Jif Kids' Club Sunday. Among numerous benefits of membership, Kids Club members receive free admission to every Sunday game. Membership in the Kids Club is free. New in 2017, the Legends will offer "Pee Wee's Pack," an additional Kids Club merchandise offer that will include a replica jersey, a cap, and special shoe laces, for an additional cost.

In the past, individual game tickets did not go on sale until early March.
