Manchester - Andrew Guillotte had two hits and drove in his first run at Double-A, but the Fisher Cats dropped a 4-3 decision to Portland on Wednesday at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
Jacob Dahlstrand (3-1) worked four innings of scoreless relief for the Sea Dogs to earn the win, snapping New Hampshire's four-game win streak.
Portland (21-20) plated two runs in the top of the first inning against Fisher Cats starter and losing pitcher Conner Greene (1-4). Danny Mars walked and stole second, moving to third on a single by Tzu-Wei Lin. Rafael Devers singled to make it 1-0 and Lin scored on a double play grounder.
The Sea Dogs also scored in the top of the second inning. Jordan Procyshen singled and Joseph Monge was hit by a pitch. Deiner Lopez singled to make it 3-0 Portland. New Hampshire (16-29) hit the board in the bottom of the third inning. The Fisher Cats loaded the bases with one out on two walks and a single. Ryan McBroom's sacrifice fly drove in the first run and Harold Ramirez beat out an infield single for another run to make it 3-2.
A home run by Portland's Mike Olt in the top of the fourth and an RBI single by New Hampshire's Guillotte in the bottom of the inning made the score 4-3. No runs scored for either team after the fourth inning.
Greene allowed four runs on eight hits over six innings for the Fisher Cats. Alonzo Gonzalez worked two perfect innings in relief for New Hampshire with three strikeouts. Jose Fernandez struck out two in his scoreless inning, the top of the ninth.
For Portland, Jalen Beeks started but was lifted in the bottom of the fourth inning after allowing three runs on four hits, walking four and striking out three. Dahlstrand carried the Sea Dogs till the eighth inning. Jake Cosart pitched the final two innings for his second save.
The Fisher Cats and Sea Dogs conclude the series on Thursday at 6:35 p.m. LHP Shane Dawson (1-5, 6.39) will start for New Hampshire against Portland southpaw Trey Ball (1-3, 5.06). An Atlas Fireworks Show presented by Auto Fair will follow the game, and live music will be presented before and after the contest. Tickets are available at www.nhfishercats.com.
