Tribe Losing Streak Increases to Three

The Indians managed just one run and finished their road trip, 1-4

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Indians scattered seven hits and Anderson Feliz went 2-for-4 with an RBI, but Indianapolis fell to the Columbus Clippers, 8-1, Friday night at Huntington Park. The Tribe's record on the road is now 13-15 this season. 

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Indians scattered seven hits and Anderson Feliz went 2-for-4 with an RBI, but Indianapolis fell to the Columbus Clippers, 8-1, Friday night at Huntington Park. The Tribe's record on the road is now 13-15 this season. 

Indianapolis (32-28) could not climb out of a 3-0 hole early on. The Tribe did score one in the second inning, but it was their only run, as the Clippers' pitching staff hurled seven straight scoreless innings.
The Indians trimmed the Columbus three-run lead to two after an RBI single from Feliz that scored Barrett Barnes. The bottom third of the Indians batting order tallied four of the Tribe's seven hits.
Columbus (29-31) opened scoring in the first inning when Eric Statmets doubled off Nick Kingham scoring Yandy Diaz. Richie Shaffer followed up the double with a two-run home run to left field.
The Clippers managed to push across eight runs on eight hits, three of which were home runs.
Tribe starter, Kingham (2-2), took the loss surrendering six runs (five earned) on seven hits over 4.1 innings.
Columbus' starter Shawn Morimando (4-5), earned the win going 6.2 innings and allowing one earned run, while striking out six.
The Indians lost just their second game at Huntington Park this season. Indy is now 6-2 on the road at the Columbus. The Tribe have now lost three straight contests.
Up next, the Tribe will open a two-game homestand against the Clippers tomorrow night at Victory Field. Indianapolis will send Clay Holmes (4-1, 3.06) to the mound, opposite right-hander Julian Merryweather (2-0, 2.57). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
