Everett, WA - The AquaSox (1-1) defeated the Hillsboro Hops (1-1) 5-3 tonight following a 10-3 loss on Opening Night, with the help of an early lead in the first inning. Joseph Rosa led with a triple into right field off Mitchell Aker. Frogs pitcher, Michael Suarez, had a solid night on the mound tonight totaling eight strikeouts through five shutout innings.

The Frogs defense looked sharp through three innings allowing only one hit. Both teams remained scoreless from the second inning through the fifth. Suarez dominated the fifth inning, striking out Luke Lowery and Paxton De La Garza for the last two outs of the inning.
Carlos Hernandez replaced Suarez in the sixth and continued where he left off striking out Stephen Smith and Billy Endris for the last two outs. Greifer Andrade extended the Sox's lead in the bottom of the sixth hitting a solo homerun over the left field fence, 4-0.
Austin Grebeck was quite the thief in the seventh after being hit by a pitch. Grebeck stole second and third prior to Rosa's double that brought him home giving the Frogs a 5-0 lead.
The Hops put one run on the board in the eighth and hitter Domingo Lebya advanced to second on a throwing error. Hillsboro strung together three hits and two runs in the ninth inning, but it was not enough to pull the win from the hoppin' Frogs.
Sox start their Saturday night post game fireworks display tomorrow night presented by Tulalip Resort Casino! Group tickets, family outings and tickets are still available for Saturday's game and the rest of the homestand! For tickets visit AquaSox.com.
