INDIANAPOLIS - The Indianapolis Indians, in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Pirates, today announced that outfielder Jordan Luplow's contract was selected. Luplow is the 14th Tribe player to be recalled or have his contract selected by Pittsburgh this season, and he will be the seventh to make his major league debut.

Luplow, 23, hit .324 (24-for-74) with five home runs, three doubles, 13 RBI, 15 runs scored and two stolen bases in 21 games for Indianapolis. He was promoted to Indy from Double-A Altoona on June 30, a level in which he hit .287 (73-for-254) with 16 home runs, 15 doubles and 37 RBI in 73 contests this season.
Born in Visalia, Calif., Luplow was named as an Eastern League midseason All-Star this year with the Curve. His 21 long balls between both levels currently lead all Pirates farmhands while his 50 RBI rank fourth.
Luplow was selected by the Pirates in the third round (100th overall) of the 2014 MLB June Amateur Draft out of Fresno State. He was the 2014 Mountain West Conference Player of the Year and was college teammates with New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge as a freshman and sophomore.
