Indianapolis (58-49) extended its division lead to 2.0 games over Columbus by tallying one run in each half-inning from the first through the fifth.
The Indians continued to pour it on against right-hander Hector Velazquez when
Pawtucket (54-52) cracked the scoring in the fourth against Kingham.
Ngoepe wasted little time in pushing Indy's lead back to three. He ripped a 2-0, two-out pitch from Velazquez onto the grass berm in left for his third long ball of the year.
The PawSox strung together three doubles off
Kingham (5-6) scattered eight hits and walked none for a second consecutive outing. He struck out five and has lowered his ERA from 5.16 to 4.42 over his last two starts. Velazquez (6-3) took the loss after allowing a season-high five runs on eight hits in five innings of work.
