BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Buffalo Bisons were able to cool off the Indianapolis Indians at least for one night, as they overcame a late charge from Indy to emerge victorious in 10 innings, 5-4. The loss halted Indianapolis' five-game winning streak.

Rowdy Tellez led off the 10th inning for Buffalo (55-68) with a line-drive single to right field. Jon Berti came in to run for Tellez, and he advanced to second base on a wild pitch. Teoscar Hernández then singled to center field; it scored Berti to give the Bisons the victory.
Indianapolis (68-54) faced a 4-0 deficit in the top of the eighth inning. Gift Ngoepe hit a one-out single to left and then Kevin Newman extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a single. One out later, Max Moroff walked to load the bases. Danny Ortiz then singled to left-center, plating both Ngoepe and Newman.
The score was leveled by Indianapolis with two more runs in the top of the ninth. Jacob Stallings doubled to left-center field to score Christopher Bostick from first base. Newman then tied the game with a single to center field.
Buffalo opened the game's scoring in the second inning. Hernandez singled to left-center field, stole second base, and then came home when Danny Jansen doubled.
The early lead was extended in the fourth inning with one run, and Buffalo added two more in the seventh inning on a hit by Michael Saunders and a double by Rowdy Tellez.
Brett Oberholtzer started for Buffalo and shutdown the Tribe offense for seven frames. He allowed the two runs in the eighth before exiting. Murphy Smith (4-4) retired the Indians in order in the top of the 10th and was handed the win.
Tribe starter Nick Kingham held the Bisons to just two runs over his six innings. Edgar Santana (1-3) pitched the final frame and took the loss.
Despite Wednesday's setback, the Indians will have a chance to take the series on Thursday afternoon. First pitch is set for 1:05 p.m. Tyler Glasnow (8-0, 1.57) will try for his ninth win in just his 12th start with Indianapolis this season.
