The BlueClaws are well represented in the Arizona Fall League once again this year, with play scheduled to begin on October 10th. Phillies players play for the Glendale Desert Dogs (roster here), who will be managed by 2015-16 BlueClaws manager Shawn Williams.
Williams led the BlueClaws to the 2016 South Atlantic League Championship Series and will manage for the first time in the AFL this year. He spent 2017 managing the Phillies Hi-A affiliate in Clearwater.
Williams' staff ironically includes two former BlueClaws - Kevin Howard and Keoni De Renne. Howard, who spent this year as the hitting coach for the Lynchburg Hillcats in the Indians organization, played 32 games for the BlueClaws in 2007. De Renne spent this year as the hitting coach for the Bradenton Marauders in the Pirates organization, played 10 games for the BlueClaws in 2010.
