Doubledays Continue Tradition with 2019 Hot Stove Dinner
Portion of the proceeds of event to benefit the Auburn Little League
The Auburn Doubledays are pleased to announce another exciting Hot Stove dinner for 2019. The Doubledays will be bringing the event back again and excited to be bringing it to a location that sits near the site of a local partner who the event will help benefit. This year's event will be at the Springside Inn, near the Auburn Little League Complex on the beautiful shores of Owasco Lake, on January 31st, 2019 from 6:00-9:30.
"We are so excited about partnering with Auburn Little League this year to help them with their 70th anniversary season," Doubledays General Manager Adam Winslow said. "Little League provides a great recreational opportunity for many youths in Cayuga County, and has produced some very successful baseball players, coaches, and executives like Timmy Locastro, TJ Gamba, and Marc DelPiano. We also love having the opportunity to allow little league and high school players to play on a professional field."
This year's event will feature two guest speakers in Mark Scialabba, Director, Player Development with the Washington Nationals, and the Doubledays manager for the 2019 season, with the potential for more. The name of the new manager will be unveiled the night of the Hot Stove Dinner, and he will make his first public remarks in Auburn. One piece to share is our new manager is a good friend of former Doubledays manager, and last year's guest of honor, Dennis Holmberg. The night will differ from previous Hot Stove Dinners and feature a Question & Answer panel discussion instead of speeches, so you have the ability to ask some questions to get to know our panelists better.
President of the Auburn Little League, Frank Mancuso said "As 2019 approaches, it brings with it the 70th anniversary for Auburn Little League Baseball and the Auburn Doubledays opening a renovated stadium. Our little league, and many others, are proud to be a partner with the Doubledays. Both organizations are important to Auburn, as a baseball city, and provide excitement for players in Little League, as well as the professional players who come to Auburn as former little leaguers. Those players get involved in the community and provide hopes and dreams to our little leaguers that they might one day play on a professional field. The Doubledays already give our kids an opportunity to play on the field and we are proud to partner with them and the City of Auburn."
If you would like to be a part of the event or make a donation to increase the ability the Doubledays have to help, please call the office at 315-255-2489. We look forward to seeing you there to help support the Doubledays and Auburn Little League.
