RHP Brad Boxberger, 2010-2011 Mudcats

2/18/21: Milwaukee Brewers signed free agent RHP Brad Boxberger (2010-2011 Mudcats) to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.

Brad Boxberger first pitched for the Mudcats in 2010 before returning in 2011 where he would go on to put together an All-Star season. Boxberger appeared in 30 games for Carolina in 2011 and pitched to a 0.84 WHIP and 1.31 ERA. He also pitched to 14.94 SO/9ip while striking out 57 and walking 13 over 34.1 innings pitched.

SS Didi Gregorius, 2011 Mudcats

2/10/21: Philadelphia Phillies signed free agent SS Didi Gregorius (2011 Mudcats).

Didi Gregorius recently signed with the Philadelphia Phillies and has enjoyed a stellar Major League career since his lone season with the Mudcats in 2011. Sir Didi has totaled a WAR of 17.6 over his eight MLB seasons, placing him 15th on Carolina's All-Time Top 30 MLB career WAR list. Gregorius slashed .270/.312/.392 with six doubles, three triples, two homers and 16 RBI over 38 games with the then-Cincinnati Reds and Double-A Mudcats in 2011.

2/2/21: Miami Marlins traded RHP Jordan Yamamoto (2017 Mudcats) to New York Mets for SS Federico Polanco.
1/27/21: Miami Marlins designated RHP Jordan Yamamoto (2017 Mudcats) for assignment.

Former Mudcats pitcher Jordan Yamamoto has found a new home. Just days after the Miami Marlins designated him for assignment, former Mudcats pitcher Jordan Yamamoto has found a new home with the New York Mets. The Marlins traded Yamamoto to the Mets on Feb. 1, 2021. Yamamoto was originally drafted by the Brewers and spent the 2017 season with the Mudcats. He was later traded to the Marlins as part of the deal that brought Christian Yelich to the Brewers. Yamamoto went 9-4 with a 2.51 ERA over 22 games and 18 starts with the Mudcats in 2017. He also pitched to a 1.09 WHIP and 9.16 SO/9ip that season.

1/14/21: Seattle Mariners signed free agent OF Dillon Thomas (2018 Mudcats) to a minor league contract.

SS Francisco Lindor, 2013 Mudcats

1/7/21: Cleveland Indians traded SS Francisco Lindor (2013 Mudcats) and RHP Carlos Carrasco to New York Mets for SS Andres Gimenez, SS Amed Rosario, RHP Josh Wolf and OF Isaiah Greene.

In a blockbuster move, the New York Mets acquired shortstop Francisco Lindor via trade from the Cleveland Indians. Before his rise to mega-stardom, Lindor played in 83 games with the Mudcats in 2013 and managed to put together one of the best seasons by a shortstop in franchise history. The then 19-year-old Lindor hit .306/.373/.410 with a .783 OPS for Carolina that season. Actually, his .783 OPS is the second highest among qualified shortstops in team history. Lindor's .306 average and .373 OBP were both team highs that season. He also led the 2013 Mudcats in triples (6) and stolen bases (20).

OF Dustin Peterson, 2015 Mudcats

12/16/20: Milwaukee Brewers signed free agent OF Dustin Peterson (2015 Mudcats) to a minor league contract.

Dustin Peterson recently signed a minor league deal with the Brewers. He had most recently played in the Mexican Pacific League and last played in the big leagues in 2019 with the Detroit Tigers. Peterson originally came up in the Atlanta Braves organization and played with the Mudcats during the 2015 season. Peterson was an All-Star that year with the Mudcats and was well on his way to having a MVP like season before that season’s unfortunate road trip bus accident slowed him down.

C Joseph Odom, 2015-2016 Mudcats

12/16/20: Tampa Bay Rays signed free agent C Joseph Odom (2015-2016 Mudcats) to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.

Joseph Odom played for the Mudcats during the 2015 and 2016 seasons while Carolina was an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. Odom was with Carolina for all of the 2015 season, but earned a fast promotion to Double-A Mississippi during his short 2016 run with the Mudcats. Just weeks before his promotion, Odom ended up tying a Carolina League record for home runs in an inning after homering twice in the fourth on June 6, 2016 in Frederick. Odom went 3-for-5 with two home runs, a double and five RBI that night against the Keys.

RHP Anthony Bender, 2019 Mudcats

C Mario Feliciano, 2018-2019 Mudcats

11/20/20: Milwaukee Brewers selected the contract of C Mario Feliciano (2018-2019 Mudcats) from San Antonio Missions.

Mario Feliciano, the 2019 Carolina League MVP, was added to the Brewers 40-man roster on November 20, 2020. Feliciano totaled a Carolina League best 19 home runs during his 2019 MVP season with the Mudcats. He also finished the 2019 season as the second in the league in RBI (81), first in slugging (.477), third in OPS (.801), tenth in batting average (.273), eighth in hits (120), second in extra-base hits (48), second in total bases (210), tied for sixth in runs (62), tied for second in 2-out RBI (32), fifth in wRC (69) and first in ISO (.205). per fangraphs.com. The Brewers also added former Mudcats Alec Bettinger and Dylan File, who pitched for the Mudcats in 2018 and 2019 respectively, to the club's 40-man roster the same day.

11/20/20: Milwaukee Brewers selected the contract of RHP Alec Bettinger (2018 Mudcats) from San Antonio Missions.

SS Luis Aviles Jr., 2017-2018 Mudcats
