Rohlinger plays hero in Clippers win

RBI single in tenth caps walk-off victory

Columbus came up with a 4-3 win over Gwinnett thanks to a walk-off RBI single by Ryan Rohlinger in the bottom of the tenth.

The Clippers struck first in the bottom of the second. With two out and a runner on third, Ezequiel Carrera singled up the middle to give Columbus a 1-0 lead. Carrera then came around to score on a Ryan Rohlinger RBI single to left.

The Braves would get themselves on the board in the top of the fourth with the aid of a Stefan Gartrell RBI double down the right field line. Gwinnett later tied the game at 2-2 with an Alden Carrithers RBI double in the top of the fifth.

The G-Braves then took a 3-2 lead in the top of the sixth on a Joe Leonard RBI single. The Clippers tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom half of the frame on a Matt LaPorta RBI double down the left field line.

The game would not be settled until the bottom of the tenth. With a runner on second, Rohlinger blasted an RBI single off the left field wall, plating the winning run in style. Nick Hagadone (W, 2-2) got the win for Columbus. Joe Beimel (L, 1-2) took the loss for Gwinnett.

The Clippers conclude their four game set with the Braves on Sunday night. Columbus will tap the services of righty Joe Martinez (3-7, 5.70). Gwinnett will go with lefty Sean Gilmartin (3-8, 5.63). First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 PM.
