Shane Bieber (1-1) had been nothing besides fantastic in his three starts at the Triple-A level, and he backed that up with his best performance for the Columbus Clippers in start number four.

Shane Bieber (1-1) had been nothing besides fantastic in his three starts at the Triple-A level, and he backed that up with his best performance for the Columbus Clippers in start number four.

He tossed eight scoreless innings, giving up just three hits to propel the Clippers to a 2-1 game-three victory to clinch the series against the Charlotte Knights. He showcased his excellent command striking out eight without issuing a walk in his first Triple-A win of the season.
He didn't need much run support and the Clippers gave him all he needed in the third inning. Todd Hankins led off the frame with a screaming double, which Yu Chang followed with a two-run homerun over the left-centerfield wall to provide the Clippers with a 2-0 lead.
Ben Taylor recorded his fifth save of the year after allowing one run in the ninth inning to win the ballgame 2-1.
Columbus will welcome the in-state rival Toledo Mud Hens for a best of four series kicking off tomorrow at Huntington Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
