Renegades Defeat Tigers In Season Finale

Hudson Valley, NY - The Hudson Valley Renegades (38-37) defeated the Connecticut Tigers (33-42) by a score of 4-1 Wednesday night at Dutchess Stadium. DH Ben Kline (3-4) led the way for the Renegades in the final game of the season. Kline had three hits including a two run single in the second inning that gave the Renegades a 2-0 lead.

Connecticut native CF Thomas Milone (3-4) once again lit up the Tigers pitching as he picked up three hits including an RBI single in the sixth inning that gave the Renegades a 3-0 lead. Milone added a run scored in the eighth inning on an RBI single by 2B Ariel Soriano (1-5) to take a commanding 4-1 lead.

The Tigers offense continued its recent struggle going 0-6 with runners in scoring position and left 10 on base. LF Kasey Coffman (2-3) produced for the Tigers a pair of hits in the game including a double. 2B Steven Negron (2-4) chipped in with a pair of singles. 3B Brett Harrison (0-3) provided the Tigers with their only run scored in the game on a sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning that scored SS Curt Powell (0-4) to cut the lead at 3-1.

In his first professional start RHP Zac Reininger (1-2) of the Tigers suffered the loss as he pitched two innings giving up two runs on three hits and finished with a 1.00 ERA. Renegades LHP Chris Kirsch (4-3) pitched five scoreless innings in the win over the Tigers.

The Connecticut Tigers are the Class-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play in the New York-Penn League. The Tigers are in their 4th season at Dodd Stadium. For more information go online to cttigers.com.
