Tigers' Denny McLain Appearance Rescheduled For 8/27

NORWICH, CT- The Connecticut Tigers announce Major League Baseball legend Denny McLain's appearance at Dodd Stadium has been rescheduled for Wednesday, August 27th. McLain will be on hand to meet and greet fans, sign autographs, and throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the game as the Tigers take on the Lowell Spinners (Red Sox affiliate) at 7:05 pm.

Gates open at 6 pm. Autographs will be strictly limited to one free autograph per person until the end of the 7th inning. Additional autographed items and memorabilia will be available for purchase on the concourse during the game.

Denny McLain was a three-time All-Star in 1966, 1968, and 1969 and a two time Cy Young Award winner. His most heralded season was the Detroit Tigers' World Series Championship year of 1968 when McLain would go 31-6 with a 1.96 ERA during a campaign in which he would be named American League Most Valuable Player and American League Cy Young winner.

The Connecticut Tigers are the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play a 76 game schedule that runs from mid June through early September. 2014 individual game tickets, and team merchandise are on sale!
