Doubledays Victorious on Opening Night

AUBURN, NY - The Auburn Doubledays (1-0) cruised to a 7-3 win over the Batavia Muckdogs (0-1) on opening night at Falcon Park.

The win marks the fifth straight season the Doubledays have knocked of Batavia on opening day. Auburn scored three runs in the bottom of the third and never looked back. The Doubledays led the inning off with three consecutive singles. Cody Dent scored the first run on a wild pitch by starting pitcher Ryan Newell and Wilmer Difo later scored on another wild pitch.

Dent had a big night in his Doubleday debut going 2-3 with a double and 1 RBI. Auburn starting pitcher Kylin Turnbull earned the win going five innings with three strikeouts and only allowing two hits.

The Doubledays hit the road for the first time tomorrow night as game two of this three game series goes to Batavia. First pitch is set for 7:05.
