WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - The Doubledays won 4-3 in 13 innings to win the series against the Hudson Valley Renegades.

The Doubledays (15-31) scored two runs in the fourth inning on a RBI double from Jean Valdez to bring home Isaac Ballou and Wilman Rodriguez. Valdez was huge for the Doubledays going 3-6 with three RBI. Valdez added a single in the sixth to bring in Ballou to make it a 3-0 lead.

Hudson Valley (25-22) trimmed the lead 3-2 with two runs in the bottom of the sixth. The Renegades tied it at 3-3 in the seventh on an Ariel Soriano RBI single. Neither team scored the next four innings as each team used four pitchers.

The Doubledays went ahead 4-3 on a Cody Gunter RBI single to plate Brenton Allen, who entered the game as a pinch runner. Silvio Medina tied his season high four innings and earned his first win on the season. Medina finished with five strikeouts and only allowed one hit.

It was only the second extra inning game for the Doubledays and tenth for Hudson Valley. The victory marks the first back-to-back wins this season for the Doubledays and first road series win.

The Doubledays look for the sweep tomorrow evening. First pitch is 5:05 with Jake Johansen on the mound for Auburn.
