A big night at the plate powered the Tri-City Dust Devils (1-0) to the 10-4 win over the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes on Thursday night in the first game of the season. Luis Asuncion was a triple shy of the cycle and hit a crucial solo home run to help lead the Dust Devils to the win.
Tri-City trailed for most of the game, but the team's fortunes changed in the eighth inning. The Dust Devils had six hits in the eighth inning and secured their first lead of the game, which they would not relinquish. After not collecting a hit during the first three innings of the game, Tri-City made up for the slow start and finished the night with 15 hits.
The team will return to Gesa Stadium on Tuesday, June 20th for the home opener. There will be a postgame fireworks show that night presented by CO-Energy. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
