Hot Hitting Leads Tri-City over Boise

August 8, 2017

[Empty Body]

Behind an impressive night at the plate the Tri-City Dust Devils (7-5, 27-23) beat the Boise Hawks 7-3 in the series finale on Monday night at Gesa Stadium. The Dust Devils had 15 hits, with Tre Carter, Robbie Podorsky, and Matt Batten collecting three each.
Tri-City broke the game open in the bottom of the third inning. After loading the bases with no outs, the Dust Devils went on to score five runs to jump out to the commanding lead. While the bats were red-hot, Nick Margevicius also delivered a strong performance on the mound. The southpaw tossed five scoreless innings and earned the win in his second start with Tri-City. Despite allowing three runs late in the game, the early advantage that the Dust Devils built was enough to keep Boise from seriously threatening the lead.
Tri-City will now travel to Vancouver for a three-game series against the Canadians. Left-hander Ben Sheckler will toe the rubber on Tuesday night at Nat Bailey Stadium in the series opener. The team will return to Gesa Stadium on Friday night for a five-game series against the Hillsboro Hops. Friday will be Star Wars Night presented by Gesa Credit Union and a $1 Family Feast Night sponsored by CO-Energy. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
