Tri-City Splits Twin Bill

August 6, 2017

[Empty Body]

The Tri-City Dust Devils (6-4, 26-22) beat the Boise Hawks 6-1 in the second game of the doubleheader after falling 7-5 in the first contest on Saturday night at Gesa Stadium. The twin bill was the first at home for the Dust Devils since the 2013 season.
The first game picked up where Friday night's left off after it was suspended due to visability issues as result of wildfires in the Pacific Northwest. The game started with Tri-City trailing 6-4 in the bottom of fourth inning. Each team was able to score a run after the game resumed, but the Dust Devils were not able to overcome the deficit.
Excellent pitching and timely hitting boosted Tri-City to the win in the second game of the doubleheader. Will Stillman earned the win after tossing six scoreless frames in the seven-inning game. Stillman had a season-high nine strikeouts and only allowed five hits. Seven of the nine hitters for the Dust Devils finished with a hit in the condensed game. Tre Carter drove home one of Tri-City's six runs with his Northwest League-high eighth triple of the season.
Left-hander Tom Cosgrove will start the fourth game of the five-game series for the Dust Devils on Sunday night. Boise will counter with left-hander Nick Kennedy. It will be Luggage Tag Giveaway Night presented by Lourdes Health. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
