The Jupiter Hammerheads can’t overcome the big offensive night from the Dunedin Blue Jays and lose Saturday’s contest 8-1 at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.

On Friday, the Hammerheads had Max Meyer making a rehab appearance. On Saturday, Jupiter had some more reinforcements as Jordan Holloway made the start as he continues rehabbing. The 2019 Hammerheads pitcher threw two scoreless innings and allowed just one hit. The righty started 21 games for Jupiter in 19 and was named an FSL All-Star that season as well.

Holt Jones came in as relief for Holloway and pitched 4.2 innings. The 6-foot-8 righty tallied six strikeouts but was saddled with the loss after four runs scored (zero runs earned). Laurbert Arias followed Jones with 1.1 innings of hitless baseball. The Venezuelan lowered his ERA below three, as it now sits at 2.96 for the season.

Jared Pettitte and Caleb Wurster combined to work the ninth inning. Pettitte allowed a grand slam, while Wurster finished the innings with consecutive strikeouts.

Offensively, the Hammerheads didn’t have their best night. Jupiter only tallied one run when Ian Lewis hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning. Osiris Johnson continued to stay hot since shifting to the lead-off position and finished 3-4 on the night. Jose Salas and Angeudis Santos also tallied multiple hits, both finishing the game 2-3.

The Hammerheads and Blue Jays will wrap up the six-game series on Sunday afternoon at RDCS. The first pitch is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
