The Jupiter Hammerheads get back in the win column after beating the Palm Beach Cardinals 4-3 in a Duel of the Dean Thursday night.

Both offenses stayed quiet until the sixth inning. In the top half of the frame, Palm Beach scored on a wild pitch from Jupiter to take a 1-0 lead. Jupiter would quickly respond with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning. To lead off for Jupiter, Carlos Santiago belted his second homer as a Hammerhead. The switch-hitting shortstop went to the opposite field and cleared the left-field wall. Later in the inning, Zach Zubia would connect for an RBI double to give the Hammerheads a 2-1 lead.

The Hammerheads would score again in the seventh and eighth innings. In the seventh, Ian Lewis drove in Angeudis Santos with an RBI double. It was the 19th RBI for the Marlins' No. 11 overall prospect. In the eighth, Zubia came around to score on a wild pitch.

Palm Beach battled until the final out and made it a one-run game in the ninth inning. Elijah Cabell hit a pinch-hit, two-run home run to make it a 3-4 game. However, Patrick Murphy was able to get out of the inning and pick up his third save of the season.

For the Hammerheads, righty Edgar Sanchez got the start on the mound. In his 12th start of the season, the Dominican native worked 5.2 innings and allowed only two hits on the evening. The 21-year-old tallied five strikeouts too and brings his season total to 67 in 65 innings pitched.

Reliever Laurbert Arias would earn the win, his second of the season after throwing 1.1 innings after Sanchez. The righty allowed just one hit Thursday. Murphy came in afterward and worked two innings before earning the save.

The two teams that call Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium home will be back for more on Friday afternoon. Game time is slated for 12:00 PM as RDCS hosts a Super Splash Day at the ballpark! Come out for a wet and wild day of fun! Tickets are still available here
