Jupiter, FL (May 25, 2017)- The Hammerheads scored a combined two runs in a double header Thursday night with the Tampa Yankees, dropping the first game 3-2 and the second one 1-0.

The Yankees won all four matchups with Jupiter, with Tampa outscoring the Hammerheads 14-6. Jupiter has now dropped eight of their last eleven games.
Jupiter struck first in game one after Kyle Barrett came around to score in the first inning on an Angel Reyes single to left.
Tampa would tie things up in the second, when Jhalan Jackson doubled home Chris Gittens to even the score at one.
The Hammerheads struck back in the bottom half of the second, when Stone Garrett scored on an RBI ground out by Rodrigo Vigil that gave them a 2-1 advantage.
Tayron Guerrero (0-1, 4.50 ERA) would relieve Scott Squier (1-5, 4.62 ERA) and came on in the sixth inning to try and record a six-out save. He got two quick outs before running into trouble. Nick Solak walked and would come around to score when next batter Jhalan Jackson doubled to right-center to tie things up at two.
The Hammerheads tried to respond in the bottom of the sixth after Stone Garrett led off the inning with a single. Garrett then stole second base, but ended up being left stranded after Brian Schales grounded out, Vigil popped out, and J.J. Gould struck out.
Guerrero went back out to the mound in the seventh and gave up a solo homerun to Sharif Othman, who led off the inning, which ended up being the winning run.
After having some early struggles in the beginning of the year, starter Scott Squier looked sharp, picking up a no-decision. The Lefty pitched five innings, giving up one run on four hits, while striking out five and walking one.
Game 2:
The lone run of game two came in the third inning after Yankee Shortstop Jorge Mateo tripled to lead off the inning. He scored two batters later on Tito Polo's sac-fly to center.
The Hammerheads looked like they were going to be off on an early start like in game one, after Kyle Barrett and Junior Arrojo hit back-back singles to start the bottom of the first. The threat would end quickly, however, as Angel Reyes and Dustin Geiger struck out, and Brad Haynal flied out.
The Hammerheads only had two runners advance past first base after the first inning.
Ben Holmes, starting for Cody Poteet who was placed on the DL earlier this week, picked up the loss and now has fallen to 0-5 on the season.
The Bradenton Marauders will travel to Roger Dean Stadium and begin a three game series with the Hammerheads starting tomorrow.
RHP Mitch Keller (3-2, 2.93 ERA) will make the start for Bradenton, while RHP Felipe Gonzalez will get the call for Jupiter. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
