The Jupiter Hammerheads keep their hot streak going with another win. The Hammerheads beat the St. Lucie Mets 2-0 at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium Wednesday night.

Another strong pitching performance fuels Jupiter to their fourth straight win. While Luis Palacios was dealing last night, Edgar Sanchez followed suit on Wednesday. The righty pitched six shutout innings and struck out five batters. In his second start of the season, Sanchez lowered his ERA to 0.82.

The Hammerheads bullpen continued to keep the Mets at bay, allowing one hit in the final three frames. First in relief, was Yeuris Jimenez in the seventh inning. The 21-year-old didn’t allow a hit and struck one batter out. In the eighth, Jared Pettitte was called upon. The son of 2-time World Series Champion Andy Pettitte, didn’t allow a hit and struck out two in his night of work. Closing the game was Yoilan Quinonez, who earned his second save of the season. The Venezuelan native had to work out of a jam to secure the win. With the bases loaded in the ninth inning, Quinonez forced a double play to end the game. On the double play, the runner on first was called out due to runner’s interference.

Jupiter scored their two runs in the third inning. Kahlil Watson earned his team-leading 14th RBI with a sharp ground ball to left field. A couple of batters later, Watson scored on a Jose Salas single.
