In a wild game on Saturday night, the Jupiter Hammerheads outlast the Palm Beach Cardinals 8-7 at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. Both teams put up four-run innings and made a comeback, but Jupiter takes this round in another Duel of the Dean.

The Hammerheads started off the game strong offensively and quickly led 4-0 after the first frame. A Zach Zubia RBI single started things off for Jupiter. It was the 28th RBI on the year for the first baseman from Texas. Later in the inning, Jorge Caballero hit a triple with the bases loaded and drove in three runs.

Jupiter would hold onto their 4-0 lead until the fifth inning when Palm Beach scored on a wild pitch. In the bottom half of the inning, Osiris Johnson hit a solo homer to make it a four-run game once again. It was the fifth home run of the season for the Marlins' No. 22 overall prospect.

In the sixth, Palm Beach would score a pair of runs and make it a 5-3 game. However, Jupiter responded yet again. This time it was an RBI double from Angeudis Santos.

In the seventh, Palm Beach would tally four runs and take the lead. The final blow came from Jhon Torres with a 2-run double to make it a 7-6 game.

In the eighth inning, Carlos Santiago would be the hero for the Hammerheads. With the bases loaded, Santiago connected for a single to score Caballero. On the same play, Javeon Cody would come around to score due to a throwing error from the Cardinals.

The late two-run cushion would be enough for Hammerheads reliever Jake Schrand, who pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn his first save this season.

Offensively, the Hammerheads were powered by Caballero, who finished 3-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Zubia also had a strong game finishing 2-3 with an RBI.

On the mound, Sandro Bargallo started for Jupiter. The lefty worked 4.1 innings and allowed two hits, one run, and struck out four batters. Reliever Joey Steele also pitched 1.1 innings and struck out three batters Saturday night. The staff as a whole struck out 10 Cardinals but allowed nine walks.

The two teams that call Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium home will square off in the series finale tomorrow afternoon.
