The Jupiter Hammerheads' winning streak comes to a close after falling to the Dunedin Blue Jays 8-5 on Friday night at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. Jupiter still leads the series three games to one over Dunedin.

For the Hammerheads, there was a new face on the mound to start the game. Max Meyer, the Marlins' No. 2 overall prospect on MLB Pipeline began a rehab assignment with Jupiter. The righty pitched three strong innings before being replaced. The former first-round pick by the Fish allowed one run and one hit while striking out three batters. It was the first game for the University of Minnesota product since May 17th when he was with Triple-A Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.

Following Meyer, the Hammerheads turned to Justin Fall and Edison Suriel. Fall struck out five batters in 4.2 innings. It was the ninth appearance of the season for the 6-foot-6 righty. Suriel pitched the final 1.1 innings for Jupiter. The Dominican Republic native struck out two batters and allowed three hits on the evening.

Offensively, the Hammerheads scored two runs in the first and three more in the sixth. In the opening frame, Cristhian Rodriguez gave Jupiter the early lead with a two-RBI double to left field. Both Jose Salas and Brady Allen scored on the hard-hit ball from the third baseman, who finished 2-4 on the night.

Down 4-2, Jose Estrada would make it a one-run game in the sixth inning. The starting catcher drove in Zach Zubia with an RBI single. It was the first RBI of the season as a Hammerhead for the Venezuelan. Jupiter would retake the lead during the next at-bat when Javeon Cody drove in a pair with a double.

However, the Hammerheads wouldn't be able to hold on to the lead. Dunedin scored two in the seventh to take a 6-5 lead. The Blue Jays would add two more in the ninth to secure the 8-5 win.

The two clubs will square off again on Saturday night at RDCS. Come out to the ballpark early and celebrate Father's Day with us! Dads get in free, can play cathc on the field before the game, and can run the bases with their kids postgame! Tickets are still available here
