Legends top Greensboro 3-1

                Lexington starter Andre Davis struck out nine batters in five innings, and Marten Gasparini hit a two-run homer as the Legends took a 3-1 win over the Greensboro Grasshoppers Friday night at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.                The Legends opened the scoring with a run in the first inning.                 Lexington starter Andre Davis struck out nine batters in five innings, and Marten Gasparini hit a two-run homer as the Legends took a 3-1 win over the Greensboro Grasshoppers Friday night at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
                The Legends opened the scoring with a run in the first inning. Angelo Castellano and Kort Peterson singled. Castellano stole third and Peterson stole second before Joe Dudek singled, scoring Castellano.
                With two outs in the second inning, Nick Dini singled and Gasparini followed with his second home run of the season, giving the Legends a 3-0 lead.
                Alex Jones homered in the top of the fifth inning for the only Greensboro run.
                Davis (3-2) got the win.   He allowed five hits and one run in five innings. Julio Pinto and Walker Sheller each pitched two innings of scoreless relief, and Sheller picked up his third save.
                Former University of Kentucky star Dustin Beggs (2-3) took the loss. He gave up six hits and three runs in four innings. His earned run average stands at 1.85 for the season.
                The Legends will begin a four-game series in Augusta Saturday night. Game time is 6:05 p.m.
