Dave Schermerhorn- General Manager
The 2021 season will be Dave's 13th season in Minor League Baseball, all spent right here at Dodd Stadium. Schermerhorn was promoted to General Manager of the then Connecticut Tigers in March of 2016 where he oversees the day-to-day business and facility operation of the franchise. He previously served as Assistant General Manager of the team during the 2014 and 2015 seasons and as Director of Community Relations & Promotions for the 2010-2013 seasons. Prior to being hired by the Tigers upon their arrival in Norwich, Dave served as Community Relations & Promotions Assistant with the Connecticut Defenders during the 2009 season.
Born and raised in Norwich, Dave graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 2004 and was a member of the 2003 state championship baseball team. Schermerhorn graduated from Stonehill College in Easton, MA with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a concentration in Marketing. While at Stonehill College Dave was a member of the men's hockey team.
Dave currently resides in Stonington, CT. Some of his hobbies include playing hockey, traveling, woodworking, and spending time with his family.
Heather Bartlett- Director of Concessions & Merchandise
2021 will be Heather's 15th year in the front office at Dodd Stadium and she will continue to oversee the concessions and merchandise departments of the Sea Unicorns. A native of North Franklin, CT, she has worked at Dodd Stadium since Opening Day 1995 with the Norwich Navigators. She previously worked for the Connecticut Defenders in the concession and merchandise departments as well.
A graduate of The University of Connecticut in 2001 with a B.A. in Political Science and American Studies, Heather is a proud fan of her alma mater. She enjoys working part time at football games and basketball games where she can cheer on the Huskies!
Heather currently resides in Lisbon, CT with her family and dog Chloe who loves to go to see the Sea Unicorns on Bark in the Park Day. She enjoys cheering on the Red Sox, seeing movies, and having sushi with friends.
Lee Walter Jr.- Director of Business Development & Stadium Operations
Lee Walter Jr. joined the Sea Unicorns front office in November 2018 as Business Development Manager and was promoted to Director of Business Development & Stadium Operations in June of 2021.
Since receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Communication from Eastern Connecticut State University in 1999, he has worked in various capacities in both sales and sports. In his new role with the Sea Unicorns, Lee will have a chance to combine his passion for working in sports with his sales background.
Lee has also worked part-time as a scoreboard operator at many high school and college sporting events in CT and MA, and as an off-ice official for UConn Hockey, all while earning his Master's Degree in Sport Management with a Certification in Athletic Administration from Southern New Hampshire University's online continuing education program.
Originally from Waterbury, CT, Lee spent two seasons as an undergraduate Assistant Baseball Coach under legendary former head coach Bill Holowaty, including the 1998 National Championship, which was the third of four total national titles for Eastern Connecticut State University. Having lived in the greater Willimantic area since his days as an undergraduate at Eastern Connecticut State University, he and his wife currently reside in North Windham, CT and they enjoy spending time hanging out with their family and friends, traveling to different baseball stadiums, breweries and vineyards, and finding other unique destinations to visit. Lee also enjoys playing golf when time permits and watching his kids participate in sports and other events.
The Sea Unicorns Front Office is open Monday-Friday between 9 am and 5 pm and will open at 10 am on Saturday and Sunday when the Sea Unicorns are home
